About the project
Artscroll’s books continue to fill synagogues and libraries across the globe. Their expansive growth forced them to relocate to a larger printing facility in Rahway, Ney Jersey. Evergreen Energy developed and installed a 1.224 MW solar system to provide power for their 24 hour a day printing! Installing solar while a building is undergoing extensive renovations, as this one was, does add complex dimensions. Evergreen worked with PSE&G and the other contractors to ensure that all details were addressed properly, and Artscroll received the maximum energy benefits. Artscroll’s paper book manufacturing facility is now powered by an environmentally friendly energy system.
System Specifications
With 3,550 panels and 10 inverters, Artscroll’s solar energy system is 1224.75 kW DC, generating enough energy to power 129 home. The carbon reduction caused by their shift to renewable energy is equal to the carbon sequestered by 1313 acres of US forests annually.
