Project Overview
Cheshire Business Center is a large commercial building located in Cheshire, Connecticut. Their offices are leased out to a variety of businesses, professionals, and non-profit organizations. They offer virtual offices as well, for those who want the prestige of a commercial business address and related amenities, without paying full fledged rent fees.
System Specifications
The roof is a metal seamed roof, so instead of using a ballasted system which is unsuitable for a seamed roof, their 870 solar panels were installed using a rail-based racking system. This significantly lowered the amount of additional weight the solar system would place on the building.
The completed system has a peak power of 300.15 kW and a yearly output of approximately 345,139 kWh AC of renewable energy. Its annual carbon reduction, 240 metric tons, is equal to the amount of carbon sequestered by 319 acres of US forest in a year.
